Michelle has worked with Nulife Glass for a number of years, more formally since early 2013 as their official in-house glass artist and designer.
Nulife Glass has a novel recycling furnace technology which can process up to 10 tonnes of leaded cathode ray tube (CRT) glass from older style televisions per day, the glass from approximately 60 tonnes of televisions. This unique CRT recycling furnace extracts the toxic lead from the glass in a safe and environmentally sustainable way. The process creates no waste and avoids export of hazardous material around the globe.
Michelle has been involved in developing new products and corporate gifts making use of the recycled glass.
Projects to date utilising the recycled glass include: cufflinks for Nulife Glass; gifts for the delegates of the Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management 2012, for SWEEEP Kuusakoski and DHL Envirosolutions; name badges for the SWEEEP Kuusakoski launch event of the world’s first full production Nulife Glass CRT recycling furnace.
